AHEC Recruitment and Retention Community Model (The ARRC Model)
An AHEC approach to workforce development from the community’s perspective.
We facilitate the community to:
* Address their critical health workforce needs with recruitment activities such as listings on Texas Health Match, enrollment in the AHEC Professional Corp, and community development training in effective recruitment strategies.
* Implement effective retention strategies such as practice management technical assistance, professional development opportunities, AHEC Professional Corp, and community engagement.
* Develop an active collaboration with academic health education programs to bring appropriate students to the community for educational rotations and bonding to their community.
* Develop a pipeline to the community and assess their needs using AHEC resources such as Implan and other tools, and engage them in our classic health careers promotion program and other activities such as scholarship/loan repayment strategies.
